Mr. Bernt Johansen is a Senior Research Scientist at Norut Tromsø - Earth Observation Group. Date of birth 31 July 1954. Nationality: Norwegian.
Mr Johansen received his cand.real degree in 1983 at Department of Vegetation Ecology, University of Tromsø. The title of the thesis was "Phytosociological and ecological studies of mountain vegetation in the coastal areas of Troms, Northern Norway." Johansen held a position as research assistant at University of Tromsø in the period 1983-1987. Johansen has been employed at NORUT IT since 1987. In the period 1987-1994 he worked as research scientist, since 1994 as Senior Research Scientist. Johansen has worked with a broad spectrum of satellite remote sensing applications, including vegetation mapping and monitoring, reindeer range monitoring, vegetation change analysis, snow and ice monitoring, vegetation classification, pollution impact studies and GIS.
