Social Media has changed the use of the Internet by fostering users' interaction, collaboration and sharing of resources. In the health domain social media is becoming a major vehicle for health education of both patients and professionals. However, many educational resources in Social Media lack metadata describing their education aspects. To find health social media resources for education can be very challenging in the current information overload context. Semantic technologies can be used to improve the description and the retrieval of ontologically described health educational resources. The combination of semantic technologies and health social media is an emerging area of research. For example, few health educational resources are published using linked data technologies or enriched by using semantics. In this paper, we propose a framework for semi-automated translation of YouTube’s health videos metadata to mEducator (educational) metadata and publishing them as linked data. That approach will facilitate the use of YouTube’s health videos for educational purposes.
