About us

Norut Alta - Áltá is a multi-disciplinary research institute with competence on High North issues located in the city of Alta.

We carry out commisioned research projects for private businesses, local, regional and national public administrations, professional bodies and the Research Council of Norway.

Important research topics are regional development, Samii and Norwegian social conditions, oil & gas, and renewable energy.

Our main office is in Alta, but we also have offices in Hammerfest and Kirkenes. Our staff includes 18 employees, among them five PhDs, three PhD-candidates and one Professor II.
